Rachel Frick Rowlson, 53, of Coldwater went to karaoke with joyful abandon in the streets of Heaven May 28,2025 after bravely fighting a battle with cancer for three years.
Rachel lived a life surrounded by true friendships and a loving and supportive family. She brought light, kindness, and laughter into the lives of everyone she ever encountered and created a sense of community in all she did.
A celebration of Rachel’s life will be held at the Coldwater, MI Fraternal Order of Eagles Sunday, June 29, 2025 at 3:00 p.m.
Arrangements are being handled by Dutcher Funeral Home.
Born March 7, 1972, to Frank and Bonnie Frick in Albion Michigan, Rachel treasured her five years working as a para-pro at Coldwater Community Schools and her three years working with children with mental disabilities at Braintrust. They trained her and provided materials that she would take into homes with young children, where she would work one-on-one with her charges on improvement plans.
A gifted and natural relationship-builder, Rachel also valued her service in later years as a Shipt Shopper, especially the repeat customers she came to know and enjoy.
Rachel loved music and karaoke, traveling with family, celebrating the holidays (especially Halloween), and her beloved cats. She enjoyed watching the Food Network, and looked there for inspiration to create pleasures of the table with family and friends. Rachel sought and found delight in everything around her, which inspired her to create her own candles and jewelry, which she enjoyed sharing with others.
Her most cherished creations were sons Alex and Josh, who were Rachel’s pride and joy. She was so proud of her boys, and her family and friends will hold dear the stories and memories we are privileged to tell of their strong, smiling, and loving mother.
Rachel is survived by mother Bonnie (Andrews) Frick; sons Alexander Rowlson and Joshua Rowlson; sister Kimberly (Tom) Frick Arndts; aunts Lorna (Andrews) Larson and Faye Andrews; nephews Nathaniel Arndts and Bradley Arndts; and many loving cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father Frank S. Frick and her grandparents Frank K. and Faye (Myers) Frick and Earl and Evelyn (Wiles) Andrews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Friends of Albion’s Animals, an organization Rachel felt strongly about. Mail checks to P.O. Box 753, Albion MI 49224, or make donations via cash app at $FoAAAlbion or Paypal.
