Doris E. Rurka, 88, of Quincy passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Nursing in Angola, IN.
Graveside services will be held Monday, June 9, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Lakeview Cemetery in Quincy with Pastor Mark Case officiating.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Quincy.
She was born March 8, 1937 in Hillsdale County to Thomas and Ruth (Nickloy) Tryon. Doris married Harold L. Rurka on June 7, 1963 and he preceded her in death in 2021.
Doris retired from Simpson Industries in Litchfield. She loved cleaning the house, baking, working in the yard with Harold and attending family gatherings. Doris and Harold also enjoyed Western Two-Step dancing together.
Doris is survived by her children, Bradley (Brenda) Rurka of St. Helen, Rick (Tammy) Gardner of Coldwater, Karen (Tom) Clark of Coldwater; one sister, Jeannie (Mike) Shaw of Homer; one brother, Jerry (Bonnie) Tryon of Troy; four grandchildren, Danielle Gardner, Tyler Gardner, Corey Olds, Sheena Roland and 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Harold, Doris was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Duane and Delton Tryon; one son, Steve Gardner and one great-grandson.
Memorial contributions are suggested to a hospice organization of the donor’s choice.
