COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Bronson woman who was charged with multiple drug related charges as a result of an investigation into suspected delivery of cocaine and hydrocodone has pled guilty to one count of possession with intent to deliver cocaine, one count of possession with intent to delivery hydrocodone, and one count of child abuse 4th degree.
Branch County Prosecutor Zach Stempien says the plea deal for Ember Finley includes an agreement of 36 months prison to the statutory max on each felony, which is 20 years on the cocaine charge and seven years on the hydrocodone charge.
The charges in the case arose out of an investigation that began in January 2025. Detectives from the Southwest Enforcement Team executed a search warrant at a home on Compton Street in Bronson based on suspicion that narcotics were being trafficked from the residence. Court documents say during the execution of the search warrant, detectives saw Finley dumping cocaine in the toilet with her children nearby.
Finley was detained and the house was searched. Inside detectives found hydrocodone. They say Finley’s phone was also searched and revealed messages related to drug distribution with another suspect. The investigation into that other suspect is ongoing.
According to Stempien, his office found that a plea to the most serious offense Finley was charged with, and could be charged with, to be appropriate based upon the her history and the facts of the case, with a prison sentence of at least three years an appropriate resolution based on sentencing guidelines, Finley’s history, and Michigan law.
