COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater City Council approved a resolution Monday night that would amend a lease agreement between the city and the non-profit group operating the Coldwater Community Center so the group can rent the Beech House for private events.
Community members have been operating Community Center which is located in the former Putnam Funeral Home in downtown Coldwater.
City Attorney Amanda O’Boyle said when the resolution was introduced in April that the second amendment in the lease agreement would allow the non-profit operation to host up to 100 persons during private events in order to help offset expenses.
The group operating the Beech House was pursuing State grants through the State Historic Preservation Office to make further improvements to the building.
The remaining terms of the original Lease Agreement which was approved in November of 2023 by the City Council would remain the same.
