QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – The Reserve Police Officer who had been doing Code Enforcement work for the Village of Quincy has resigned.
Quincy Police Chief Dalton Turmell told the Village Council on Tuesday night that Reserve Officer Jody Miller has left the department. His final day was Tuesday after he had been on the job since January.
Following Miller’s resignation, Turmell reported he has decided to do away with the code enforcement position. He said each full time Quincy police officer will take a section of the village in the future to do code enforcement work. This will also open up a full time officers position.
In addition, Turmell announced a recent department recruit has a spot reserved in the Kellogg Community College Police Academy starting in August. A grant for the training is scheduled to be provided by the Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards, otherwise known as MCOLES.
