COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Board of Commissioners approved a proposal of just under $150,000 Tuesday for IT and audio/visual equipment associated with the Branch County courtroom renovations.
The proposal was submitted by Smart Homes/Smart Offices of Mason and came under the project’s budget by $777.
The plans include new IP digital cameras which will replace the current analog models. New microphones will also be installed.
Work is scheduled to begin in the Probate Court during the month of July. Renovation work in the District and Circuit Courts will be done after the Probate Court is finished.
The renovation work in the three courtrooms is expected to take almost six months to complete.
The work is being done in part to increase security and bring the courtrooms into A.D.A. compliance.
