QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – The two finalists for superintendent with the Quincy Community Schools will have the chance to meet district residents and participate in second interview with the Board of Education today.
Both John Denney, retired superintendent of Hanover-Horton Schools and Mike Ehinger, current superintendent of Whittemore-Prescott Area Schools have been invited back for a second round of interviews.
The school has scheduled an open house for the public prior to the interviews today from 4:30–5:30 p.m. in the high school library. Interviews with the Board of Education are scheduled at 6:00 p.m. for Ehinger and 7:15 p.m. for Denney.
The board had been hoping to have a new superintendent in place by July 1 to replace the retiring Marc Kramer. An retirement open house for Kramer will be held this afternoon from 3:30-4:30 p.m. at the Administration Office.
Ehinger is also scheduled to interview for the superintendent’s position with the North Huron School District in Michigan’s Thumb area Thursday night. Denney last fall had been one of three finalists for the Montcalm Area Intermediate School District’s superintendent position, but was not selected.
