SHERMAN TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – On Tuesday, Deputies with the Saint Joseph County Sheriff’s Office attempted a traffic stop on a suspect operating a reported stolen motorcycle in the area of Shimmel Road and Storms Road.
The suspect failed to stop, initiating a brief vehicle pursuit.
The individual eventually abandoned the motorcycle and fled on foot. Officers quickly established a perimeter, a K-9 unit, and a drone, and members of the Saint Joseph Valley Special Response Team were deployed to assist in the search and apprehension.
The suspect was located and taken into custody without further incident.
Additional individuals connected to the case were also arrested at the scene. All parties face charges including Fleeing and Eluding Police, Resisting and Obstructing a Police Officer, and Possession of Methamphetamine.
No major injuries were reported. The investigation is ongoing.
The St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Michigan State Police, White Pigeon Police Department, LifeCare Ambulance, and the Saint Joseph Valley Special Response Team.
