COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Farmers Market will kick off this weekend for its 11th season. The market will run Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., starting Saturday and running through September 13. The market will be held in Downtown Coldwater, on the northwest corner of the 4 corners.
There will be many new vendors this season, and some returning from previous years. Weekly entertainment will return with Alley Roads for the first week. For several years, the Branch County Community Foundation has provided shoppers with the opportunity to donate to the market, in return for a reusable insulated shopping bags when they come into the market.
Vendors at the first market include: Eicher’s Family Bakery, Tri-State Corners Farm, Litten Hobby Farm, Union City Rotary Club, American Flower Trends, Skidmore Family Farm, Preston Produce, Tiffany’s Apothecary, Hoffman’s Produce, Miller’s Amish Bakery, Little Farmhouse on the Prairie, David Smoker Stained Glass, Ivy Lane Essentials, Cake Poppin by Emily, Laser Legacy, Rustic Ridge Ranch, Jessica’s Sweet Treats, Ann Marie’s Mixing Bowl and Burlington Pottery. Seasonal and drop-in vendor applications are still being accepted through the Market website.
Market vendors will provide locally grown products like fresh fruits, vegetables, maple syrup, meat, eggs, dairy, flowers, plants, baked goods, dry goods, and prepared foods. A small percentage of the market will include non-food products with the idea that the item must be of high quality and locally made by the vendor. No mass-produced items will be allowed. Vendors can choose to commit week-by-week or for full-season commitment to attend the market each Saturday.
