COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A packed house jammed into the Hope Cafe in Coldwater Tuesday morning for the monthly Coffee, Conversation and Community event, that featured State Senator Jonathon Lindsey, State Representative Jennifer Wortz, and 5th District Congressman Tim Walberg.

Although the large crowd listened intently to Lindsey and Wortz explain what was happening in the state capitol on topics such as education, road funding and hospital transparency , it was Walberg a majority of those in attendance wanted to hear from.
Walberg began with details of the Big Beautiful Bill passed by Congress last week and signed into law by President Trump on Friday. The nine term congressman talked about the misconceptions related to Medicare and Medicaid cuts
Walberg added that both programs have actually been strengthened for those that need it most such as the elderly, single parents and those with disabilities.
Walberg was also interrupted multiple times by several people with opposing views such as this instance as he was addressing illegal immigration and the role of ICE.
Walberg encourages everyone to read the bill instead of relying on what he referred to as inaccurate sources for it’s content.
