PARK TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – Wednesday night , at approximately 8:30 p.m., deputies from the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of US-131 near Flowerfield Road in Park Township for a reported injury accident.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a black motorcycle, operated by a 35-year-old Three Rivers man, was traveling southbound on US-131. The rider lost control and collided with the rear of another southbound vehicle.
The motorcyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the second vehicle was not injured.
Speed is believed to be a contributing factor in the crash. The motorcycle rider was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash that does remain under investigation by the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office.
