COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch County Administrator Frank Walsh gave the Board of Commissioners the latest timeline on the courthouse renovation project during their meeting on Tuesday.
He said the renovation work in the Probate Court is expected to be done late next month with work in the other two courtrooms starting after Labor Day.
Walsh acknowledged things will be challenging while the District and Circuit Courts are being renovated.
Walsh plans to have bids for Probate Court chairs for the Commissioners during this Friday’s work session.
In other business, the Commissioners formally approved the hiring of former Prosecutor Terri Norris to be the next Chief Public Defender. She will start her new duties next Monday.
The Commissioners also formally approved the purchase of tasers, handguns and a phone app for the Sheriff’s Department totaling just under $195,000 which will be paid for by Coldwater Township solar grant funds.
