UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – Now that voters have approved a $19.11 million bond issue for Union City Schools, the district is ready to move forward with the new renovation projects.
Superintendent Chris Katz says most of the $23.6 million state grant the district received earlier this year will go into the high school/ middle school
As for the money raised through the bond it will go mostly into the elementary school.
Katz has emphasized that the plan, which includes closing the 1970’s middle school and consolidating grades, will provide a complete facelift for the district, enhancing learning environments with new classrooms, science labs, a cafeteria, and air conditioning.
