COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Coldwater Police K9 is being credited with successfully tracking down a suspect who tried to flee officers Sunday morning.
At 8:24 a.m. Sunday morning, Coldwater Police were dispatched to a residence on Morse Street reference a larceny of a bicycle complaint. A subject matching the description was located riding a bicycle on East Chicago Street near Vans Avenue. Coldwater Police Sergeant Bryan Regan attempted to contact the subject when the subject fled the area by cutting through business parking lots.
The suspect jumped off the bicycle and fled the area on foot.
Coldwater Police Officer Chase Kreucher and K9 Murph were requested to the scene and a successful track of the suspect resulted in locating the male in a nearby wooded area.
A 39–year–old Coldwater resident was arrested and lodged at the Branch County Jail for several warrants, and resisting and obstructing a police officer.
