COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Fort Wayne, Indiana woman has been sentenced to two years probation and a suspended jail sentence for lying to police during the investigation of a fatal boat crash last August.
Tasha Adams pled no contest in June to one count of lying to a police officer when she gave a false statement to deputies regarding the operator of the boat involved in a crash on Coldwater Lake, that accident that took the life of 46-year-old Cory Butler of Grabill, Indiana.
During the course of the investigation , Adams and her daughter stated that the daughter was the driver of the boat and not her husband.
Branch County Prosecutor Zach Stempien said ” the plea guarantees a conviction and resolution. The plea eliminates the need for a jury trial, which was specifically discussed with the decedent’s family and other interested parties”.
Zachary Adams, the driver of the boat, is facing charges of fourth degree child abuse, false report of a felony, negligent crippling homicide, negligent operation of a vessel, and reckless skiing.

But the truck driver that allegedly coasted through a stop sign and got hit be a motorcycle and fully cooperated with the police will get jail. Wait and see
