COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater High School boys varsity soccer team evened its record at 1-1 with a 2-1 win over Kalamazoo Central in their home opener Tuesday.

Both Cardinal goals came from Abdulhamid Munnasar, with the first coming just 4:34 into the game, assisted by Liam Clark.
Kalamazoo Central tied the game at 1-1 on a long direct kick after a Coldwater foul with 20:01 to play in the first half.
Munnasar’s second goal was unassisted with 8:12 to play in the game, as he stripped a Maroon Giant defender of the ball, dribbled through several players, then fired home the winning shot.
Coldwater outshot Kalamazoo Central 14-4, holding them to just one shot in the second half. Franky Ramos made two saves in goal.

Coldwater is now off until Saturday morning when they play Flint Powers Catholic in the opening round of the Panther Cup at DeWitt.
The Coldwater junior varsity team improved to 2-0 with a 6-0 won over Kalamazoo Central.
Scoring two goals apiece were Ali Ahmed, Johan Aburto, and Muthana Hajaji. Jensley Norvilus and Riyadh Sharif combined for the shutout in goal.
The JV team will also play at the Panther Cup Saturday.
