COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – After two weeks of work, a new mural on the side of the Children’s Museum of Branch County is now in place.
Rhiannan Sibbald Studio of Grand Rapids performed the work on the massive mural of flowers at the corner of U.S. 12 and Hanchett Street.
The studio agreed this past spring to design and paint the mural on the west wall for $18,000 that will be paid in three installments of $6,000 apiece by the Downtown Development Authority.
Branch County Economic Development Coordinator Erin Veysey told the D.D.A. Board of Directors on Wednesday morning that the mural “is the final piece of the 2025 Public Art Program supporting economic revitalization efforts, enhancing the visual appeal and cultural vibrancy of the downtown area.”
Several downtown art projects came about after respondents to last year’s Downtown Corridor and Public Amenity Survey identified public art as a top priority for improving the downtown area.
