JACKSON, MI (WTVB) – A Jackson County judge has ruled three men will stand trial on charges stemming from an Easter Sunday incident in the city of Jackson that resulted in the death of 45-year-old John Lusch of Marshall.
Bryan Johnson, Jemel Milton, and Phillip Gauze, are all being held without bail at the Jackson County Jail, accused of killing Lusch at home in the 900 block of Orchard Place on April 20, 2025.

Investigators say Lusch went to the home at some point Sunday morning, where he was confronted by several individuals in the home and shot multiple times.
The three men will now stand trial on charges of first-degree felony murder, unarmed robbery, and conspiracy to commit unarmed robbery. Johnson and Gauze were bound over on additional charges of tampering with evidence, and Johnson is facing an additional charge of unlawful imprisonment.
After a two day preliminary examination, District Court Judge Allison L. Bates found probable cause and bound all three men over for trial.
