BLACKMON TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater’s cross country teams participated in the first Interstate 8 jamboree of the season on Tuesday, hosted by Jackson Northwest. The boys came in third with 67 points, while the Lady Cards were fourth with 113 points.
Three juniors led the way for the Cardinal boys, with Drew Vanderpuyl finishing eighth, Luke Aerts tenth, and Sebastian Hernandez twelfth. Aiden Parker was 17th, while Lucas Newberry was 24th.
Gwen Eby finished in fifth to pace the Coldwater girls. Ellerie Bucklin was 20th, Morgan Baker 21st, Miyah Moore 36th, and Olivia Golematis 38th.
The Cardinals will run at the Spartan Invitational Friday at MSU’s Forest Akers East Golf Course.
Middle school teams also participated Tuesday; the Legg Middle School girls finished fourth in their race, while the boys placed sixth.

LESLIE, MI – Quincy took part in the Leslie Blackhawk Invitational Tuesday, and the boys came in third with 97 points. The girls did not have a team score.
Medalists for the Oriole boys were Chase Jensen (5th), Carter Feltner (14th), Hunter Walker (15th), and Nathan Dunn (25th). Kendyl Musielewicz (21st) and Elizabeth Craig (30th) picked up medals for the Lady O’s.
Quincy’s next race will be next Tuesday at Ella Sharp Park in Jackson, for the JPEC (Jackson Prep & Early College) Falcon Invitational.
