EAST LANSING, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater High School girls and boys cross country teams competed in the Bronze Division (D2) race at the MSU Spartan Invitational Friday, in a meet with close to 40 teams and 300 runners in one division.
Gwen Eby lead the way for the Cardinals placing 14th overall to earn a medal.
The girls team placed 21st place in the Bronze Division. Joining Eby in the scoring were Morgan Baker finishing 114th (24:27), Ellerie Bucklin 122nd (24:39), Miyah Moore 181st (26:22) and Olivia Golematis 186th (26:28). Isabella Angevine and Taylor Jones also competed rounding out the varsity team.
The boys team placed 20th in the Bronze Division. Drew Vanderpuyl lead the way in 75th place (18:24). Sebastian Hernandez 79th (18:29), Luke Aerts 85th (18:42), Aiden Parker 150th (20:15) and Lucas Newberry 156th (20:20) also scored for the Cardianals. Brenley Legg also competed as a varsity runner and Collin Long ran top seven on the team for the first time of the season earning varsity points.
Gwen Eby and Brenley Legg both ran season bests as Morgan Baker ran a personal record, taking off another 24 seconds off her time.
