JACKSON, MI ( WTVB) – The Coldwater High School boys varsity soccer team maintained their hold on first place in the Interstate 8 Conference Thursday with a 3-0 victory at Jackson Northwest.
The win improves the Cardinals record to 3-0-1 in the conference and 8-5-1 overall.
Liam Clark had a pair of first half goals within one minute of each other, with the first assisted by Austin Accardi and the second from Sebastian Ocampo.
Accardi sealed the win with a penalty kick goal about five minutes into the second half.
Franky Ramos had five saves in goal as Coldwater outshot Northwest 26-8.
The Cardinals play a non-conference game at Three Rivers Saturday morning, and then host I-8 Conference second place Harper Creek Tuesday on Teacher Appreciation Night.
The Coldwater junior varsity team improved to 14-0 on the season with a 4-1 win Jackson Northwest Tuesday.
They will host Grand Ledge Saturday at 10:30 a.m.
