BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater went 1-1-2 on the day Saturday at the Lakeview Mini Invitational. The Cardinals split with Otsego 25-18, 25-27 and with Detroit Renaissance 14-25, 25-18, beat Holt 25-17, 25-19, and lost to Division 2 sixth-ranked Grand Rapids Catholic Central 25-21, 25-18.
For the day, Aubrey Gebbink had 23 kills and 20 digs, Mya Porter had 21 kills and 20 digs, and Marie Powers had 14 kills and 7 blocks. Brooklyn Closson had 58 assists, 25 digs, and 6 service aces, and Maren DeBeau had a team-high 50 digs and 8 aces.
Coldwater is now 13-9-4 on the season and will visit Jackson Northwest on Wednesday.
THREE RIVERS, MI – Bronson traveled to the Three Rivers Invitational also also finished the day 1-1-2. In pool play, the Vikings beat Centreville 2-0 and tied Hamilton and Dowagiac 1-1. In the Gold Bracket semifinals, Bronson lost to Three Rivers 25-23, 25-17.
The Vikings, who were an honorable mention in Division 3 in the latest Michigan Interscholastic Volleyball Coaches Association rankings, are now 13-9-6 on the season. They will host Springport on Tuesday.
