CHELSEA, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater High School boys varsity soccer team extended its unbeaten streak to 10 games Thursday with a 6-0 non-conference win at Chelsea.
The Cardinals took the early lead just 2:50 into the game as Sebastian Ocampo scored directly off a corner kick. Abdulhamid Munnasar then scored four minutes later, assisted by Liam Clark.
The Cardinals took the 2-0 lead into halftime, but then Clark scored 1:58 into the second half, assisted by Ocampo to increase the lead.
Ocampo scored again six minutes later, assisted by Clark, to make it 4-0. The final two goals came from Nasser Abdullah, assisted by Aseel Ahmed, and Jensley Norvilus, assisted by Ahmed Norman.
Franky Ramos made one save in goal as Coldwater outshot Chelsea 18-1.
The Cardinals are now 13-5-1. They will close out the regular season at home Saturday against Lansing Waverly on Senior Day. The junior varsity contest begins at 10:30 a.m., with the varsity at 12:00 p.m.
The Coldwater junior varsity team improved to 18-0 Thursday with a 3-0 win over Chelsea.
