BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – The Pigskin Prophet is now 16-3 for the 2025 season on his Branch County high school predictions after going 2-1 last Friday night.
That’s a percentage of .842. And you thought Aaron Judge had a pretty good batting average.
The PP correctly called wins for Coldwater and Bronson but missed on the Union City-Quincy game.
Recapping last Friday’s Branch County predictions and final results…
Coldwater 28, Parma Western 20 (Cardinals won 28-21. Almost called it on the button)
Bronson 54, Centreville 31 (Vikings won 30-6)
Quincy 21, Union City 20 (Chargers won 38-14)

3-4-1 on the college and NFL picks. That brings the overall record for the season to 32-15-1.
All four Branch County teams are 4-1 and yes Jim Mora, we’re talking playoffs.

If the playoffs started this week, all four Branch County teams would be dancing.
Coldwater is ranked 15th in Division 3. Meanwhile in Division 7, Bronson is 17th, Union City is 20th and Quincy is now 23rd. The top 32 in each of the eight 11-player divisions and the top 16 in the two 8-player divisions make the post season. Playoff point averages determine the M.H.S.A.A. football playoff teams.
Here are the Branch County games for Week #6
COLDWATER AT PENNFIELD
The Coldwater Cardinals look for their third straight win Friday night at Pennfield. The Cardinals have won four out of the last five games against the Panthers including a 28-21 win last year.
The Panthers are 2-3 overall and 0-2 in the Interstate 8 following lopsided losses to Harper Creek and Hastings.
This is the third straight Homecoming game for the Cardinals and just like last week at Parma Western, they will spoil the Panthers Homecoming.
The PP says Coldwater 34, Pennfield 14
COMSTOCK AT BRONSON
The Bronson Vikings will be looking for their fourth straight win in their Homecoming game against the winless Comstock Colts. The Pigskin Prophet will be in attendance and providing updates during our coverage of the Coldwater game at Pennfield.
The Vikings are 3-1 in the Southwest 10 and have scored 145 points in the last three games. The Colts led Quincy at halftime 16-12 two weeks ago before losing to the Orioles 28-16. Their other losses have been one sided affairs.
Comstock has lost 25 straight varsity football games. Their last win was over Cassopolis by a score of 40-22 on September 9, 2022.
It should be a happy Homecoming for the Vikings.
The PP says Bronson 55, Comstock 14
UNION CITY AT WHITE PIGEON
The Union City Chargers play their third straight road game Friday night at undefeated White Pigeon. The Chiefs are ranked fourth in the Division 8 playoff standings. They already have recorded four shutouts this season.
The Chargers got back on track last Friday night at Quincy with a 38-14 win over the Orioles thanks to over 300 yards of rushing.
Union City must move the ball on the ground like they did last week and avoid mistakes. The PP watched White Pigeon pound Bronson 46-6 last year and is afraid the Chiefs have to many weapons for the Chargers.
The PP says White Pigeon 35, Union City 21
QUINCY AT READING
The Victory Bell is on the line Friday night as the Quincy Orioles take on arch rival Reading. There is no love lost between these two bitter foes. They’re neighbors who don’t like each other, sort of like Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau in “Grumpy Old Men”.
Reading has the Bell in its possession after last year’s 30-18 victory over the Orioles.
Since 2017, the Rangers have won the Bell six out of seven times. According to michigan-football.com, Reading has won 39 times in the last 70 meetings going back to 1950 while Quincy owns 30 wins and there was one tie.
Quincy is 2-1 in the Big 8. After jumping on Union City early last Friday, the Orioles defense was gashed for over 300 yards rushing by the Chargers.
Reading is 2-2 in the conference and 2-3 overall. The Rangers are trying to bounce back as well after a 32-20 loss to Stockbridge. Reading has lost to White Pigeon and Springport but they have wins over Maple Valley and Sand Creek.
Anything goes when it’s the Orioles and Rangers. The PP thinks the Orioles will get back in the win column and take the Bell back to Quincy but it will be close.
The PP says Quincy 27, Reading 23
