COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater High School boys varsity soccer team closed out the regular season Saturday with a 7-1 Senior Day victory over Lansing Waverly.
Seven different players scored for the Cardinals, with goals from Sebastian Ocampo, Franky Ramos, and Abdulhamid Munnasar in the first half, and Riath Shaamala, Ahmed Norman, Mason Sabaitis, and Liam Clark in second half.
Assists came from Aseel Ahmed, Liam Clark, Jensley Norvilus, Austin Accardi, Essam Ahmed, Ahmed Norman, and Riath Shaamala.
Waverly’s lone goal came with 1:08 to play after Coldwater was leading 7-0.
Norvilus made two saves in goal as the Cardinals outshot Waverly 23-4
Coldwater finished the regular season at 14-5-1 and will open postseason play by hosting Niles in the District quarterfinal Thursday at 6:00 p.m.
The Coldwater junior varsity team finished their season at 19-0 with a 2-1 win over Lansing Waverly. Hazim Ahmed and Muthana Hajaji had the goals for the Cardinals.
