COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Tibbits Opera House is seeking donations from the community for its upcoming annual auction, which will be held over two events in October and early November.
On Saturday afternoon October 25, from 1 to 5 pm, Tiffany’s Treasures marketplace will feature items which in years past were found in Tibbits’ silent auction, including but not limited to special services, gift certificates, baskets and more. The marketplace format represents a change from years past in the Annual Auction, and Tibbits is excited for the community to attend. Donated items will be laid out by price tier, and prices will periodically drop throughout the afternoon.
Then, on Saturday evening, November 1 starting at 7:30pm, Tibbits will hold its live auction on the Opera House stage, complete with live entertainment from Dueling Pianos International.
Tibbits is actively seeking donations for each of these events from the community. Individuals or businesses are encouraged to donate exclusive experiences, unique items, themed baskets, individual collectibles or any or all of the above. Donations for Tiffany’s Treasures marketplace can include new or gently used items, services, antiques and collectibles, gift certificates, household goods and gift baskets. Any community member or organization with questions is urged to contact the Tibbits office at 517-278-6029 during business hours, or to email Tibbits at info@tibbits.org.
The Tibbits Annual Auction is the largest fundraiser of the year for Tibbits Opera Foundation and Arts Council, and this year marks the 46th annual iteration of the event, which features live and silent auctions, raffles, sales and an evening of entertainment. In addition to the live auction on November 1, Tibbits is also hosting a Gala Dinner on stage at the Opera House starting at 5:30pm. The Gala Dinner is a separate ticketed event, but includes live auctions and the night’s entertainment.
Each year features a new theme for the Annual Auction, and this year’s theme is “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” after the 1961 film starring Audrey Hepburn and George Peppard.
