BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – A Bronson man is facing drug charges following his arrest this weekend.
Branch County Sheriff’s deputies conducting a warrant check at 123 Franklin Street in Bronson encountered Jason Narlock inside the residence, who was wanted on an outstanding warrant.
Through an open front window, officers also observed a meth pipe on a nearby table. 63-year-old Brett Kubasiak, who was contacted regarding Narlock’s presence, initially denied knowing if Narlock was inside. A search warrant was subsequently obtained, and during the search, deputies discovered a locked safe in Kubasiak’s bedroom. After forcing it open, they found a digital scale, approximately 14 grams of methamphetamine, and various personal items belonging to Kubasiak.
Narlock later informed investigators that Kubasiak regularly supplied him with drugs and conducted daily sales from the residence, estimating around ten transactions per day.
SWET agents confirmed that the quantity of methamphetamine found was consistent with narcotics distribution. The substance tested positive for methamphetamine, leading to Kubasiak’s arrest.
During his arraignment Kubasiak pled not guilty to charges of Delivery and or Manufacturing Methamphetamine and Maintaining a Drug House.
Judge Brent Weigle set his bond at $40,000 and ordered Kubasiak to undergo random drug testing. Kubasiak will be back in court October 23 for a Probable Cause Hearing.
