Most government offices are closed today in observance of Columbus Day

COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – On the federal holiday of Columbus Day, federal government offices, most banks, and the U.S. Postal Service will be closed.

Many state and local government offices will also close today. Meanwhile, many parts of the private sector, including stock markets, major retailers, and restaurants, typically remain open.

If you do have business to attend to today and you’re unsure of their schedule, the best advice is to call ahead.
