BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB) – Harper Creek hosted the Interstate 8 Cross Country Championship meet Thursday afternoon, and Coldwater finished fourth in both the boys and girls races. The Cardinal boys finished with 87 points, while the Lady Cards had 116 points. In the final league standings, the boys secured a third place finish, while the girls were fourth.
Scoring in the boys race for Coldwater were Luke Aerts (11th), Drew Vanderpuyl (14th), Sebastian Hernandez (20th), Aiden Parker (21st), and Lucas Newberry (25th). Gwen Eby was seventh in the girls race, followed by Morgan Baker (16th), Ellerie Bucklin (20th), Miyah Moore (33rd), and Isabella Angevine (55th).
Gwen Eby earned All-Conference First Team recognition, while Luke Aerts and Drew Vanderpuyl received Honorable Mention.

The Cardinals will run at an MHSAA Division 2 Regional next Saturday, hosted by Portage Central at Portage West Middle School.
In the middle school race, Coldwater’s boys were sixth, while the girls finished third.
WHITE PIGEON, MI – Bronson ran at the White Pigeon Invitational on Thursday. The girls won their race with 15 points and swept the top five positions individually. Ashlynn Harris was first, Alonna Goodsell second, Piper Grigsby third, Miriam Sanchez fourth, and Lydia Wells fifth.
The Viking boys were second with 29 points just two points back of first-place White Pigeon. Individually, Brayton Cosby was third, Adam Franks fifth, Denver Siler sixth, Carter Sikorski eighth, and Brier Green ninth.

Bronson will compete in an MHSAA Division 3 Regional next Friday, hosted by Napoleon at Jackson’s Ella Sharp Park.
