ANGOLA, IN (WTVB) – The Steuben County Board of Commissioners has formally expressed interest in being part of any future discussions regarding the relocation of an existing casino license within Indiana.
This stance follows the release of a state-commissioned study that identified locations in northeast Indiana, specifically near Auburn in neighboring DeKalb County and in downtown Indianapolis, as optimal sites for a potential relocated casino.
The commissioners emphasized the county’s strategic location at the intersection of Interstate 69 and the Indiana Toll Road, a key logistical point that makes it a viable candidate for a casino development.
While a specific license has not been offered to Steuben County, the commissioners voted unanimously to formally indicate their openness to the Indiana Gaming Commission, ensuring the county is in the conversation should the opportunity arise.
