ANGOLA, IN (WTVB) – A 42-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with approximately 15 reported mailbox thefts in rural Steuben County.
The arrest followed a Steuben County Sheriff’s Office investigation that utilized tips and surveillance video, leading to the execution of a search warrant at a residence near Crooked Lake.
During the search, detectives recovered items consistent with the thefts and suspected drug-related items.
Jenifer Marie Shuford of Angola was booked into the Steuben County Jail Tuesday night on preliminary charges including multiple level 6 felonies for theft, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of a legend drug, along with several misdemeanor charges.
She is being held on a $10,500 bond.
The investigation is ongoing, and the Sheriff’s Department is asking anyone with missing packages from around November 1st through this past weekend to contact the Detective Bureau.
