SHERWOOD TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – A Battle Creek man with an outstanding parole absconding warrant was arrested in Sherwood Township following a two-hour standoff with the Branch County Sheriff’s Office Tuesday night.
Deputies responded to a residence on Arney Road based on information that the wanted individual was hiding there, but the subject refused to exit the home.
The St. Joseph County Special Response Team was called to assist in the situation.
After the standoff, the suspect was safely taken into custody and transported to the Branch County Jail on his warrant.
A report has been forwarded to the Branch County Prosecutor’s Office for review of additional charges.
