COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – It’s an issue facing school districts all across the state, a shortage of school bus drivers.
Branch County school districts are among the many across Michigan who are dealing with a shortage of drivers. In fact, Coldwater Community Schools had to completely cancel a route on Monday, forcing parents to scramble to find alternative transportation to and from school.
Coldwater Superintendent Paul Flynn says it’s nearly a daily occurrence.
Quincy Superintendent John Denney says they have a couple of fill-ins on staff, but it takes away from their daily duties when called to drive.
