Helen A. Beard, 88, of Quincy passed away Sunday, December 14, 2025 at Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility in Coldwater.
There will be no services at this time. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Quincy.
She was born August 16, 1937 in Waterloo, Indiana to Earl and Mary (Frick) Pierson.
Helen graduated from Quincy High School. Helen was employed at several factories in the area during her working years including Acorn Manufacturing, Bronson Precision Products and Quality Springs. She had a strong work ethic, a quality she made sure to teach her children.
Helen loved shopping, spending time in the sun and watching her hummingbirds. She had a sweet tooth and especially enjoyed Russell Stover chocolates or a vanilla milkshake whenever she had the chance. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her four children, Kevin (Sandra) Newberry of Coldwater, Karol Booher of Quincy, Kendall “Ken” (Lora) Newberry of Montgomery and Kelli (David) Wheatley of Union City; sister, Patricia (Norm) Knisely; former husband, John Newberry; grandchildren, Kimberly, Eric, Jason, Tess, Autumn, Katrina, Kayla, Jordan and Jessica; and many great-grandchildren also survive.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Pryor “Pete” Beard; granddaughter, Brittany; and siblings, Peggy Erts and Walter Pierson.
Memorial contributions are suggested to a charity of the donor’s choice.
