ANGOLA, IN (WTVB) – A 48-year-old fugitive sex offender was apprehended in Calhoun County, on Thursday, , following a two-month investigation.
Travis Lee Krontz was taken into custody without incident by the U.S. Marshals Service on an outstanding warrant from Steuben County, Indiana. The warrant charges Krontz with a Level 6 felony for failing to register as a sex or violent offender.
Authorities allege that Krontz worked in Steuben County for approximately five years without fulfilling his legal registration requirements. Detectives reportedly contacted Krontz regarding the violation earlier this year, prompting him to flee the state and leading to the issuance of an arrest warrant in November.
Krontz is currently being held at the Calhoun County Jail pending extradition to Indiana to face the felony charge.
