COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater City Council this week gave there approval to the Coldwater Fire Department to replace a CPR device that broke earlier this year and due to it’s age no longer has the replacement part available. Fire Chief Dave Schmaltz
Schmaltz says his department uses the device on cardiac arrest calls about 15 times a year, he says the replacement is just over $31,169 but he says the department has received $13,650 in donations to help defray the cost.

Even though $17,519.83 requested and approved wasn’t in the budget Schmaltz says the fire department will make adjustments in other areas to help cover the remaining costs.
Council approved the request on a unanimous vote.
