WILLIAMS COUNTY , OH (WTVB) – A Fremont, Indiana man is in serious condition crash involving a semitruck in Williams County, Ohio.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP), the crash happened just after 8 a.m. Thursday on State Road 49 at the Ohio Turnpike ( about 10 miles east of Angola) and involved a semitruck and a van.
A preliminary investigation from OSHP indicated the semitruck driver reportedly failed to yield to a stop sign while exiting northbound onto State Road 49. As a result, the southbound van struck the semitruck.
The driver of the van, 58-year-old Randy Appleton, was seriously injured and taken to a hospital. A passenger in the van suffered minor injuries.
The semitruck driver was not injured.
