GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WTVB) – DeWitt drained eleven three-point baskets, nine in the first half alone, as they cruised to a 62-38 win against Coldwater Friday in a Girls Gold Classic Division game on the first night of the Cornerstone High School Holiday Tournament.
The Panthers led 20-7 after one and 44-13 at halftime as they improved to 3-1 overall. Golden Nicholson had a game-high 20 points, while Jaynie English scored 15 on five triples.
Rylie VanAken led the Cardinals with 9 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals. Mya Porter and Audi Bucklin had 7 points apiece, with Porter adding 4 boards and 2 blocks.
Coldwater fell to 2-3 overall and will return to Cornerstone Monday afternoon to face Rockford.
