HILLSDALE COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – A GoFundMe account has been established to support the Graber family after their horse-drawn buggy was struck by a pickup truck in Hillsdale County’s Camden Township, December 21.
The collision occurred just before 2 p.m. on Mead Road when a southbound pickup truck rear-ended the Graber family’s buggy, which was also traveling south.
The buggy was occupied by 32-year-old Henry Graber, 31-year old Katheryn Graber, and five children.
Henry Graber and one child sustained serious injuries and were airlifted to hospitals, while other family members received medical care.
According to the GoFundMe page:
“Henry, his 6-year-old son Jr, and his almost 1-year-old son Chris were life flighted to the University of Michigan hospital. Henry has suffered a broken neck, Jr has already undergone surgery, and little Chris is fighting for his life. The prognosis for the family is still unknown, and they are facing a long and uncertain road to recovery. Multiple surgeries have already been performed, with more needed, and the emotional and financial toll is immense”.
Community members organized the fundraiser to help cover medical expenses and replacement costs for the buggy and horse, as Amish families often lack traditional health insurance. https://www.gofundme.com/f/support-henry-grabers-family-after-tragedy
