Ralph Keith Rector, 74, of Union City passed away Saturday, December 27, 2025 at his home under hospice care.
In keeping with Ralph’s wishes, he will be cremated and a graveside service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 9, 2026 at Fort Custer National Cemetery, 15501 Dickman Road, Augusta, MI.
The family is being served by Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation in Union City.
Ralph was born November 29, 1951 to Harold and Doris (Portwood) Rector in Danville, Kentucky. He graduated from Lebanon High School with the Class of 1969. Ralph proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1969 to 1973 on the U.S.S. Voge.
February 24, 1973 he married Jane A. Shaffer at the United Methodist Church in Union City.
He worked at Security National Bank/S&B Bank and Trust/Comerica as Property Manager for 26 years, and Systex in Battle Creek for 12 years before retiring in 2019. Ralph enjoyed model trains, fishing, crossword puzzles, artwork, painting, drawing, and touring around the Upper Peninsula.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Jane Rector of Union City; his mother-in-law, Mary Mullenhour of Union City; his brother, Rev. Tom Rector of Florence, KY; his sister, Becky Leonard of Crittenden, KY; his special nephew, Eric (Sarah) Rueppel of Sturgis; his nieces and nephews, Shannon, Erica (Matthew), Krista, Steve, and Cathy (Charles); his great-nieces and nephews, Anna (Ryan), Aaron, Adara, and Adain; his great-great nieces and nephew Audrey, Samantha, Jaelyn and Beckum.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Bob Mullenhour; his stepfather, Joe Hagen; his sisters-in-law, Barbara Rueppel and Barbara Rector; his brother-in-law, Charlie Leonard; his nieces, Katrina Leonard and Carol Ann Leonard; his great-nephew, Gray Rueppel .
