UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – After more than 33 years of service, Assistant Police Chief Corey Wilkinson has officially announced his retirement from the Union City Police Department.
Wilkinson’s deep-rooted career began in 1992 as a reserve officer before he transitioned to a full-time role in 1994 following his graduation from the Kalamazoo Valley Community College Police Academy. Over the ensuing decades, he became a fixture of the department, rising through the ranks to become a Sergeant in 2015 and ultimately attaining the position of Assistant Police Chief in 2016.
The Village of Union City is preparing to honor Wilkinson’s extensive legacy and his unwavering commitment to the community he calls home. A formal recognition ceremony is scheduled for this January to celebrate his transition into retirement and to thank him for his long-standing leadership. Department officials and community members alike have expressed their gratitude for Wilkinson’s distinguished service, noting that his career was defined by a profound sense of pride and dedication to the residents of Union City.
