HILLSDALE COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – A man in Hillsdale County has died after falling through the ice on Lake Somerset Saturday.
The man who has been identified as David Fausak was reported missing Saturday after he failed to return home after walking his dogs.
A search by multiple agencies was launched Saturday evening. A Michigan State Police helicopter was also called in to aid in the search Sunday morning.
Just before noon Sunday it was discovered he had fallen through the ice on Lake Somerset, The Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Department Dive Rescue Team was able to pull Fausak’s body out of the water.
It’s unclear why he was on the ice. Police say the investigation is ongoing.
