Bob was born August 26, 1959 to Robert Henry and Carolyn (Blowers) Guthrie in Coldwater, Michigan. He graduated from Union City High School with the Class of 1978. Bob worked as a truck driver for 21 years at J.B. Hunt, then for a year at Get Go Trucking in Ohio. October 4, 2014, Bob married Penni Jo Palmerton in Union City.
Bob was known to have a good sense of humor, being stubborn, a reserved personality, but most of all, a big heart. He loved boating and taking the kids tubing, playing poker, and rebuilding classic cars. He was an avid hunter and fisherman in his younger days and loved taking his son, Andrew, hunting and fishing when he was a child. He also enjoyed family gatherings, especially cookouts, and had a love for beagles.
In addition to his wife, Penni, he is survived by his children, Russell Iobe of Vicksburg, Jason (Courtney) Iobe of Burlington, Josh (Katie) Hoppe of Vicksburg, Evan (Tori) Hoppe of Ceresco, and Andrew (Amanda Houck) Guthrie of Homer; his 16 grandchildren; his one great-grandchild; his brother, Michael Guthrie of Sherwood; and his many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Bob was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial contributions can be made to Union City Assembly of God, 501 Division Street, Union City, MI 49094.
