MARSHALL, MI (WTVB) – Marshall Community Credit Union (MCCU) is giving local K-12 students another reason to hit the books by offering a financial reward for academic achievement through its new “Dollars for A’s” program.
Recognizing that hard work in school deserves celebration, the initiative aims to incentivize academic excellence and promote early financial literacy among youth members.
Under the program, eligible student members can earn $2 for every “A” (or an equivalent top grade) they receive on their report card. Students can earn up to $20 per school year in total, providing a tangible reward that accumulates with each grading period.
Laura Van Dyke, MCCU Financial Education Specialist says “Financial wellness is a lifelong journey, and the earlier kids develop good habits, the more confident they’ll be in managing their own money This program is designed to make the experience of saving money positive and confidence-building for young people, connecting their hard work in the classroom to real-world financial benefits.”
To participate, simply email a copy of their current report card to youthaccounts@marshallcommunitycu.com
