SHERMAN TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – A two-vehicle collision on Featherstone Road near Taylor Road in Sherman Township resulted in the death of a 55-year-old Sturgis woman and left a 79-year-old woman in critical condition Thursday evening.
The St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the crash at approximately 6:39 p.m.
. The incident occurred after a westbound Mercury Mariner reportedly struck a deer, causing the driver to lose control on icy roads and collide with an eastbound Chrysler Town and Country.
The 55-year-old Sturgis woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the report speed was a factor in the crash.
