COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch County residents were greeted this morning with another slippery commute following another round of overnight snow.
The combination of snow and wind caused travel issues all across Branch County. All schools in the county were closed again Thursday and area law enforcement agencies investigated multiple slide offs including two jack knifed semis on I-69.
Branch County Road Commission Manager Jay Miller says some of the biggest issues this morning were some of the usual areas.
Miller says the continues drifting does alter how his department goes about clearing the roads compared to a regular snow
Next up will be bitter cold temperatures for the weekend with highs in the single digits and wind chills well below zero, not to mention potential impacts from a huge weekend storm system that could effect 170 million people across 30 states. It’s still to early to tell what those impacts might be across Branch County and all of Southern Michigan.
