Fire officials ask residents to clear snow from hydrants

COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Fire officials are reminding residents to ensure that fire hydrants are cleared of snow.

The cold weather typically means more fires, as residents use alternative heating methods inside their homes, such as space heaters.

Residents are urged to clear snow three-feet around fire hydrants to allow for quicker and easier access if firefighters need to use them.
