Ruth I. Long, 96, of Quincy passed away Saturday, January 24, 2026 at her home.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 29, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Quincy with Pastor Gaylord VanAken officiating.
The family will receive friends for visitation Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Private family interment will take place at a later date.
She was born September 10, 1929, in Toledo to Floyde and Irene (Virts) Lane.
Ruth grew up in Toledo and graduated from Waite High School. She went on to become a Certified Nursing Assistant and worked primarily in Naples, Florida for Dial A Nurse. In her spare time, she loved working on puzzles. She was a devoted and loving mother, and her children will remember her gentle, sweet nature and her constant smile.
Survivors include three children, Charles (Teresa) Long of Coldwater, Patti Long Craft of Bonita Springs, Florida and Jeanette Long Strauss of Quincy; ten grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, James Raymond Long; grandson, Kenneth Martin Craft III; one great-granddaughter, Rachelle Barker; sister, Evelyn Sullivan; brother, Bruce Lane; and son-in-law, Ivan “Bud” Strauss.
