Christopher “Chris” Pavka, 72, of Coldwater passed away Monday, January 26, 2026.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Friday January 30, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 10:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. prior to the service. There will be a gathering of family and friends held on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at Dutcher Funeral Home from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Interment will be held at a later date.
Chris was born March 19, 1953 in Coldwater, Michigan, to Frank and Mary (Balough) Pavka. He was united in marriage to Dianne L. (Macke) June 30, 1979, and together they shared many years of love, family, and friendship.
Chris spent much of his working life in the printing industry, holding various positions over the years. He also dedicated 10 years of service with Alliance, where he was known for his strong work ethic and reliability.
Proudly serving his country, Chris was a member of the United States Army, serving on active duty from 1973 to 1975, and later continued his service with the National Guard from 1979 to 1984.
Chris had a true passion for life. He enjoyed golf, motorcycles, traveling, and, most of all, spending time with family and friends. He was an active member of the community, belonging to the American Legion, where he proudly served as former Commander, as well as the Elks Lodge and Moose Lodge. Chris was also well known locally as a DJ and karaoke host, bringing music, laughter, and enjoyment to many over the years.
Chris will be remembered for his outgoing personality, love of people, and dedication to those he cared about.
Chris is survived by his wife Dianne Pavka of Coldwater; his daughter Jennifer (Tony) Rakoske of Coldwater; his brother John (Karen) Pavka of Arizona; his sister-in-law Deborah Wilson; and his granddaughter Morgan Rakoske; along with many loving nieces and nephews.
Chris is preceded in death by his parents; his son John Ruple; and his siblings Frank Pavka; Joe Pavka; and Mike “Chico” Pavka.
Memorial donations may be directed to the American Legion #52 and/or St. Paul Lutheran Church.
