COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The East Lansing Trojans escaped Coldwater High School’s Coach Floyd Eby Gymnasium Tuesday night with a 42-37 victory.
The Trojans led 11-6 after one and 25-11 at halftime. The Cardinals made it a game by in the third quarter by outscoring East Lansing 15-6. Coldwater was behind 31-26 after three and cut the deficit to three twice, but could come no further as Sydney Black went 7-for-7 from the free throw line in the final stanza to ice the game away. Black finished with a game-high 25 points, including a 10-for-13 overall performance from the charity stripe, as East Lansing improved to 12-3 with their eighth straight win..
Mya Porter almost had a double-double, leading the Lady Cards with 10 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 blocks. Addy Bucklin added 9 points and 2 assists.
Coldwater fell to 9-7 overall and will host Harper Creek on Friday.
